SHENZHEN, South China, June 1 (Xinhua) -- The No.4 seed and defending champion Wang Manyu beat No.5 seed and newly crowned world champion Liu Shiwen 4-1 to reach the women's singles semifinals of ITTF China Open here on Saturday.

Wang rallied to a 2-0 lead by wining first two sets 11-6, 11-4. Liu got back into the game with an 11-6 win in the third set. But Wang found the rhythm again to win straight sets 11-6 and 13-11 to clinch the victory.

"She is the world champion. I just put myself in the challenger position. I needed to focus 100 percent while on court," Wang said.
