JAKARTA, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese men's and women's badminton teams both enjoyed bye in the first round at the 2018 Asian Games as seeded teams after the drawing ceremony was held here on Thursday.

The Asian Games badminton action will kick off on Sunday. In women's team event, No. 2 seed China was drawn in position 16, and will unsurprisingly fight for a final spot against Chinese Taipei, also in the bottom half.

In men's part, top-seeded China was placed in the top half with Hong Kong, China and Chinese Taipei, while South Korea, Malaysia, Japan and hosts Indonesia were among teams in the bottom half.

The Asian Games badminton matches will run from August 19 until 28, with seven disciplines, including men's and women's teams, singles and doubles, and mixed doubles.

The badminton team finals will be held on August 22. Enditem
