ACCRA, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Ghana beat South Africa 1-0 at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa on Saturday to progress to the final round of FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana qualified on a 3-2 aggregate after a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium last week during the first leg.
After a barren first half, the West Africans scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute through Priscilla Mensah.
Despite efforts by the home team to redeem the deficit, the Black Princesses remained resolute and protected their lead till the end of the match.
Ghana is seeking to book its eighth consecutive appearance at the biennial tournament scheduled to be held in Poland in September this year. ■
