SYDNEY, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- One person has died and three others have been hospitalized following three separate stabbing incidents in western Sydney on Sunday.
Police in the state of New South Wales (NSW) said in a statement that emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing at a residence in Lethbridge Park, about 40 km west of central Sydney, shortly before 2 p.m. local time on Sunday.
A 34-year-old man was treated by ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.
A second man, aged 25, was also treated for stab wounds and taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
It followed two separate stabbing attacks in western Sydney in the early hours of Sunday, Australia's 9News network reported.
A man aged in his 20s was taken to the hospital in a serious but stable condition after being found with multiple stab wounds in a vehicle in Hoxton Park, about 33 km west of central Sydney, shortly after midnight.
Shortly afterward, police were called to a home in St Marys, a suburb neighboring Lethbridge Park, where they found an 18-year-old male occupant had been stabbed during a break-and-enter.
He was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
Police established crime scenes at the locations of all three incidents and have opened investigations. ■
